Our first release of 2007 begins with a solo 12″ from none other than Macc.

Tight, fractured drums skipping through the foreboding intro signal paranoid
1970s soundscapes and the intensity of an avant-garde jazz quartet on wax.
Nuñez subverts today’s predictable drum and bass logic with its use of space,
droning brass and sinister vocal fragments, delivering a superb exercise in
dynamic tension. Masterful stuff from Barking’s Jazz fanatic.

Forging Kool and the Gang into new, impossibly lithe patterns that weave
against rhythmic sublow, blissed-out synth pulses and pacific-state strings,
Macc shows us he can flip the script at will, creating future music that recalls
the best atmospheric jungle without resorting to Speed-era clichés. Clearly a
highlight in Macc’s already impressive career and one Transmute is proud
to bring to you.
